Jan 08, 2026 Taiwan’s Weiya Tradition & Preview of Fullchamp’s Annual Weiya on January 24, 2026
As the Lunar New Year approaches, companies across Taiwan traditionally hold year-end gatherings to express appreciation for their employees’ contributions throughout the year. Recently, media coverage comparing Japan’s Bonenkai and Taiwan’s Weiya has drawn attention to the different ways organizations across regions recognize and thank their teams.
In Japan, Bonenkai typically refers to informal year-end drinking gatherings, where costs are often shared or covered by employees themselves. In contrast, Taiwan’s Weiya is a company-hosted year-end appreciation banquet, fully sponsored by the employer, and regarded as an important expression of gratitude and respect toward employees for their dedication and hard work.
We would like to share this cultural perspective with our colleagues across the Ronal Group.
At Fullchamp Taiwan, we proudly continue this people-centric Weiya tradition. By hosting a company-funded year-end celebration with appreciation at its core, we reaffirm our commitment to recognizing our employees’ efforts and to strengthening team cohesion through shared moments of connection.
Fullchamp will hold its Annual Weiya Celebration on January 24, 2026. We warmly invite our colleagues to look forward to this meaningful annual event, which brings together appreciation, exchange, and a shared sense of accomplishment.
Further highlights and event updates will be shared in the coming weeks—please stay tuned!
